Tekapo A Intake Gate

JLE were awarded the contract to upgrade the existing Genesis Tekapo A power station water intake station flood control gate with a scope consisting of Electrical and Automation control systems. JLE’s work primarily included Supply, Installation and Commissioning of MCC Switchboards, Industrial UPS systems, Field distribution boards, Back-up site generation, PLC Control Systems integrated into the main network, Fibre & Networks new work and integration, Earthquake detection monitoring, Lightning protection systems, Security system and other associated Instrumentation devices. JLE successfully managed the project remotely from New Plymouth & mobilised the JLE site crew from New Plymouth to Tekapo to execute the installation. This project’s quality aspect was highly monitored and scrutinised by the engineer to the contract and JLE fulfilled all aspects. JLE completed over 2,700 manhours to execute the project and had zero LTI’s and MTI’s. JLE was highly commended via a press release by the Client for the delivery, quality and timely completion of this project.
