JLE were awarded the Electrical Installation subcontract for Top Energy’s new 35MW Geothermal Power Station at Ngawha Springs in Northland. The work included the site wide electrical installation of air coolers, heat exchangers, fans, pumps, motors, turbines, generators, auxiliary transformers, switchrooms, steam and brine delivery systems, chemical dosing, fire protection, sewerage treatment, oil separation, lightning protection and outdoor area lighting. JLE’s scope of work included the installation of more than 100,000 metres of new power and instrument control cabling, fabrication and installation of cable support systems, earthing, switchboards, field equipment, building services, lighting, hazardous area installation / inspection and commissioning assistance. JLE also provided mechanical resources to install structural supports, tanks and platforms. JLE had up to 48 electrical and mechanical people from our Auckland, New Plymouth and Hawera operations plus our core network of competent and reliable electrical and mechanical contractors. JLE expended more than 50,000 hours on this project with no LTI’s or MTC’s.
